So, I started playing Kingdom Hearts 2 for the first time. Figured I would see what all the fuss was about. Before I say anything about the game I just have to say what a fucking amazing design team Tetsuya Nomura has working on these games. That guy is my god, period. I worship the ground he walks on, because everything he touches is design gold. How else do you make something that is locked away in my brain as childish and without compromising its original features, make it badass?

SPOLIER ALERT!!!!!

Prime example: Mickey Mouse / King Mickey. He is without a doubt the most bad ass character in this game. Fuck Sephiroth, everyone knows King Mickey is going to put the hurt down on all those who challenge him. Any other time I see mickey mouse I conjur up images of saturday morning cartoons when I was four and massive, shoved down your throat marketing. But here he is, the same big eared, red shorted, two foot tall mouse... and he is the most bad ass guy in there.

On a different note... i feel sorry for anyone trying to play 2 without playing 1, and for anyone who really wants to PLAY a game. It took me 4 hours to get through the whole Roxas opening bit, most of which was cut scenes. When I rent a game, I need a bit of instant gratification before i get into the nitty gritty story telling.

But hey, either way... im playing it. and it is good.
